Canadian Nursing & Genomics hosted a virtual conference on November 25, 2020. Nurses from Canada and beyond joined to advance nursing practice that includes genetics and genomics.

The conference featured presentations by Canadian nurse researchers and international colleagues who specialize in genetics and genomics. At the end of the conference, attendees joined breakout sessions according to their domain of practice (direct care, education, research, policy, administration).

The feedback gathered during the breakout sessions was used to create the infographic (below) which presents vision statements for each domain of nursing practice along with some suggestions on how you can learn more and get involved in this initiative. This infographic will support engagement and guide initial steps for Canadian nurses to advance practice and research in genetics and genomics.

The Canadian Nursing & Genomics group are now preparing an engagement framework to continue the momentum. Based on the feedback received by the event committee during this event, it is apparent that nurses from across Canada are excited about the initiative.
